Hydroxychloroquine For Sale - Generic Plaquenil 200mg, 400mg

What Is Hydroxychloroquine (PLAQUENIL)?

Hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil) is a drug used to treat malaria. It is also prescribed for rheumatic and dermatologic diseases (lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic juvenile arthritis, sunlight-induced dermatologic diseases).

How To Use Hydroxychloroquine?

Take Hydroxychloroquine pills by mouth with meals or with a glass of milk.

Plaquenil has a cumulative effect, and it takes several weeks to reach its therapeutic effect, while minor side effects may occur relatively early.

Stop taking the drug if your condition has not improved after six months of taking the drug (in case of rheumatic diseases).

Dosage

Rheumatoid arthritis. The initial dose for adults is 400-600mg; a maintenance dose is 200-400 mg/day.

Chronic juvenile arthritis. The dose should not exceed 6.5 mg/kg of body weight or 400 mg/day. Your doctor should prescribe the minimum effective dose.

Lupus erythematosus. The initial dose for adults is 400-800 mg/day; a maintenance dose is 200-400 mg/day.

Hypersensitivity to light. Treatment should be limited to periods of maximum light exposure. For adults, a dose of 400 mg/day may be sufficient.

Malaria. For adults, 400 mg on the same day of the week. For children over six years of age, the weekly suppressive dose is 6.5 mg/kg, but it should not exceed the adult dose regardless of body weight.

Treatment for acute attacks of malaria. The initial dose in adults is 800 mg, followed by 400 mg after 6 or 8 hours and 400 mg in the next two days.

Contraindications

Avoid taking the drug in case of:

  • Hypersensitivity to 4-aminoquinoline derivatives;
  • Children under 6 years;
  • Galactose intolerance and lactase deficiency.

Side effects

Rare side effects may include retinopathy with changes in pigmentation and visual field defects. In the early stage, it is reversible after the cancellation of the drug. However, if Plaquenil is not withdrawn in time, there is a risk of progression of retinopathy even you stop taking the drug.

Other rare side effects include skin rash, itching, changes in skin pigmentation and mucous membranes, hair discolouration, and alopecia. These changes usually go away quickly after discontinuation of treatment.

Nausea, diarrhoea, anorexia, abdominal pain, and rarely vomiting may occur. These symptoms usually go away after reducing the dose or stopping treatment. Dizziness, tinnitus, hearing loss, headache, nervousness, emotional lability, psychosis and seizures are rarely observed.

Precautions

Exceeding the recommended daily dosage increases the risk of retinal damage and accelerates the process. Therefore, perform ophthalmoscopy of both eyes to examine visual acuity, color vision, and optical field before the treatment. Subsequently, such examinations should be repeated at least annually.

If vision deteriorates (visual acuity, color vision, etc.), the drug should be withdrawn immediately. Patients should be monitored since retinal changes, and visual impairment may progress even after treatment withdrawal.

Take the drug with caution if you have liver and kidney disease. It may be necessary to reduce the drug dose to reduce its toxic effects on these organs.

Take the Plaquenil with caution in case of gastrointestinal, neurological or haematological diseases.

Patients taking the drug for a long time should periodically perform a detailed blood test. If deviations from the norm are detected, Hydroxychloroquine should be discontinued.

Young children are especially sensitive to the toxic effects of 4-aminoquinolines. That is why store Plaquenil out of reach of children.

Patients should exercise caution when driving vehicles and performing work requiring increased attention since Plaquenil may impair accommodation and cause blurred vision. If this condition does not resolve spontaneously, temporarily reduce the dosage.

Pregnancy And Breastfeeding

Hydroxychloroquine penetrates through the placenta. However, there are not enough data about using the drug during pregnancy. Therefore, pregnant women should avoid using Plaquenil.

Careful consideration should be given to the necessity of using the drug while breastfeeding since it is excreted in small amounts into breast milk. In addition, as we know, infants are particularly sensitive to the toxic effects of the drug.

Overdose

Overdose symptoms include headache, impaired vision, cardiovascular collapse and seizures, hypokalemia, cardiac and respiratory arrest.

If you experience these symptoms of overdose, seek medical help immediately.

Hydroxychloroquine For COVID-19 Prevention

Hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil) is a long-known drug developed decades ago to treat malaria. It is now also used in rheumatology.

Professor Didier Raoult of the IHU Hospital Méditerranée Infection in Marseille has suggested that the drug might effectively treat infection caused by SARS-CoV-2. These suggestions were made some time ago but were not taken seriously by the scientific community.

However, several months ago, this author presented a presentation on youtube, highlighting the results of a non-randomized open-label study that included 25 patients. The study demonstrated the effectiveness of Hydroxychloroquine - a significant reduction in the viral load: 25% of patients who received Hydroxychloroquine remained virus-positive on day 6, compared to 90% in the group of patients who did not receive such therapy.

The greatest effect was achieved with the combined use of Hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin. Only 5% remained infected after 6 days of treatment.

The mechanism of the possible positive effect of Hydroxychloroquine on COVID-19 is not yet clear. Presumably, it can disrupt the processes of endocytosis by which the virus enters the target cell. The drug may also affect any of the components of the immune response involved in antiviral defence.

Nevertheless, the data obtained to date cannot yet be considered sufficient for the use of Hydroxychloroquine in the treatment of patients with COVID-19. This drug is characterized by many potential interactions with medications prescribed to patients due to concomitant pathology.

On the other hand, the drug has been well studied over decades. It is used even in pregnant women. Therefore, the side effects are not as severe. In addition, it is cheap and relatively easy to synthesized the drug in large quantities.

Hydroxychloroquine is being tested as part of a number of protocols to treat patients with COVID-19.
